Crowns

There are many variations in crown materials and quality. Crowns are recommended for restoration of:

• heavily broken down teeth

• previously root canal treated teeth

Crowns act as a protective brace and coverage for these teeth. They can also provide aesthetic improvements to the teeth being crowned.

Bridges

Bridges serve to fill a missing gap between 2 teeth. The teeth on either side of the gap are prepared for crowns and a third crown joins the 2 adjacent crowns to form a Bridge. If the teeth on either side already require extra protection via crown work, then you will gain both benefits of protecting the adjacent teeth as well as replacing the lost tooth.

Crowns and bridges usually require 2 appointments, one to prepare the teeth and another fitting appointment.
